Q. What type of franchise is available?
A. TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® offers you the opportunity to operate a pet daycare business that
allows dogs to play and interact with other dogs in a non-caged, supervised environment and that provides
overnight boarding, full-service grooming, training classes and a selection of retail items.
Q. How much does the franchise cost?
A. The estimated initial investment to establish a TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® business ranges
from $157,050 to $321,667. This includes the initial franchise fee of $35,000.
Q. How much is the fee for continuing support services?
A. The continuing services, or “royalty fee,” is 5% of your gross sales and is paid weekly.
This fee entitles you to use the TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® service mark, use of distinctive system, marketing
assistance, ongoing business development and counseling, and other benefits that come with being a TAILWAGGERS
DOGGY DAYCARE® franchise.
Q. Will I have an exclusive territory?
A. TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® grants you an exclusive territory (called an “area of primary
responsibility”) We determine the boundaries of the area based on a variety of factors, including the median
population age, proximity to competitors, proximity to other franchisees, physical or political boundaries.
We also conduct an extensive analysis in which we examine income levels, household size, dog ownership, and
education level of the surrounding population. We will not establish other franchised or company-owned businesses
in your area. If we sell products or services to a customer residing in your area via our website, you will
receive a commission on the sale in the amount of 25% of the total purchase price. We may establish alternate
channels of distribution selling similar services and products. This activity may compete with your franchised
business. You may not directly market to or solicit clients outside of your area of primary responsibility.
Q. What about advertising?
A. The TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® name and reputation is an important part of our business. You
will spend a minimum of $3,000 on grand-opening advertising during the first three months of operations. You
will also spend at least 3% of your gross sales per month on local advertising for the first year.
Q. How much training is provided in the TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® system?
A. You will participate in an initial training course of approximately 3 weeks. The initial
program will focus on all aspects of the TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® franchise system and is comprised of
classroom and on-the-job training. This training is in addition to the on-site opening assistance we provide you.
Q. What is the term of the TAILWAGGERS DOGGY DAYCARE® Franchise Agreement?
A. The initial term of the Franchise Agreement is five years from the date the Franchise Agreement
is signed. The franchise is renewable for three additional terms of five years each, providing you have complied
with the provisions of the Franchise Agreement.
