About Us
This is Belle.
She is the inspiration for TailWaggers Doggy Daycare.
To learn more about Belle’s story, read on...
In 2003 Belle’s dad, a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Forces, was called to duty to serve
his country in Iraq. We knew that this would be a very difficult separation for Belle. Her
best friend, who worked from home, would no longer be there to take care of her all day. I had no
idea what to do to keep Belle happy and entertained while I was away at work all day.
A friend mentioned that she had been taking her dog to a doggy daycare in her
area and that it was wonderful! Rusty made new friends, played all day long and was happily tired
out by the time he got home. PLUS he got into less trouble because after a day of playing he
didn't have the devilish energy that used to lead him to chew on her favorite shoes. I thought, wow,
this sounds great! So I searched and found a doggy daycare in my area. I started taking Belle
there and she loved it! She met new friends and played all day long. In the evenings
when she got home she was happy, content, and tired out (just like me!). Every day when we got closer to doggy daycare Belle got
so excited she couldn’t sit still. She bolted out the car door as soon as I opened it. Belle loved
her new friends and the fact that she got to run and play all day long. What a dog’s dream come true!
I told my mom and sister, Joan and Tara, about Belle’s doggy daycare experience.
They had been wondering how she was doing -- both very worried about her.
My mom and sister both love dogs and they invest a lot of time and effort in keeping their own dogs
(Killian and Higgins, and Max and Miller) happy and healthy. And Belle is always at the top of
their list of concerns.
As we were talking about Belle's fun time at doggy daycare the three of us got to thinking. We knew
there wasn’t a lot to offer by way of doggy daycares in the Fox Valley area. And we knew that nobody
could possibly love dogs more than we did. So why not open a doggy daycare of our own?
We did our research and learned everything we needed to know about how to keep dogs safe and healthy in group
situations. We used the information we gathered along with our favorite ways of
spoiling our dogs and devised a plan to create a home away from home for dogs. We wanted a safe, clean and
fun environment where dogs could run and play all day long,
and at night sleep in cushy suites with comfy beds, fresh water and healthy bedtime treats.
Thus, the plan was in place. And all but one detail had been decided: What should we name our
doggy daycare, our dog's home away from home? We racked our brains to come up with the perfect name.
Then we thought about Belle and it came to us. Whenever I picked her up from doggy daycare her tail was
wagging and she was smiling. Dogs are happy at doggy daycare, and happy dogs wag
their tails. So TailWaggers Doggy Daycare was born.
TailWaggers Doggy Daycare. We are in business because we love dogs and we want to do our part to
give back the love, respect, and warm, fuzzy feeling they give to us.
P.S. Belle, her cousins (Killian, Higgins, Izzy, Fletcher, Max, and Sullivan) and her
new sister Maya love their TailWaggers Doggy Daycare! And the TailWaggers Doggy Daycare family is growing
leaps and bounds as people are learning that TailWaggers Doggy Daycare really is a dog's home away from home.
